Online orders used to mean a shelf of tablets and a person retyping tickets. On Clover they mean an ordering page you already pay for and marketplace orders that land in the kitchen queue. This page covers what is included, what integrates, and what each order costs.
What is included
On the Counter Service and Table Service plans, Clover Online Ordering provides:
- A branded ordering page with your menu synced from the POS, item photos, modifiers and combos.
- Pickup ordering with time slots; delivery where you arrange your own drivers or a delivery integration.
- Orders into the Clover register and kitchen printer or display, with a pickup time and customer details.
- A link to post on your website, Google profile and social accounts, and a QR code for the counter.
- Order-ahead prompts and basic upsells.
The Essentials plan does not include it.
Delivery marketplace integrations
| Marketplace | Integration | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| DoorDash | App Market | Orders into Clover, menu sync, status updates |
| Uber Eats | App Market | Same |
| Grubhub | App Market | Same |
Each integration has a monthly or per-order fee set by the integration provider, and each marketplace charges its commission on its own orders (commonly 15% to 30% depending on the plan you choose with them). The integration does not change the commission; it removes the tablets and the retyping. Menu sync means your 86’d items and price changes flow through.
What each order costs
| Clover direct | Through us, interchange-plus | Through us, dual pricing | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online order processing | 3.5% + 10¢ | About 2.2% to 2.5% all-in | Card price covers it; $0 to the merchant |
| Marketplace order | Marketplace commission plus processing as above (on some integrations the marketplace processes the payment and remits) | Same structure | Same |
A restaurant doing $20,000 a month in online orders pays Clover direct about $720 a month in processing; on interchange-plus about $470; under dual pricing nothing. Online orders are card-only, so the ordering page shows the card price. Keep it consistent with the counter’s card price.
Menu setup for online
Photos on every item. Modifier groups with required choices so orders are complete. Item descriptions. Pickup lead times by daypart. Categories in the order customers browse (mains first). Sold-out toggles from the dashboard on your phone. Online-only items or combos if you want to steer volume.
Kitchen routing
Online and marketplace orders route to the same stations as register orders. A dedicated printer at the pickup shelf, printing the online ticket and a customer label, keeps pickup organized. Kitchen Display shows online orders with their pickup time so the line can sequence them.
Setup with us
We build the online menu from the POS menu, connect the ordering page to your website and Google profile, install the marketplace integrations and map the menus, route printers, and post the QR code at the counter. Then we check the first week’s orders with you. The quick-service layout this fits into is on Clover for quick service.
