Find Out What You Are Really Paying to Take Cards
Send one statement. Within 24 hours you get your effective rate, every junk fee we find, and a written side-by-side of what you would pay with us. If we cannot beat your deal, we say so.
What we look for on your statement
| Line item | What it usually means | Typical avoidable cost |
|---|---|---|
| Qualified, mid-qualified, non-qualified rates | Tiered pricing. Most of your cards get downgraded to the expensive tier. | 0.5% to 1.5% of volume |
| PCI non-compliance fee | A penalty for not completing a questionnaire nobody told you about. | $20 to $99 per month |
| Annual or membership fee | Pure margin billed once a year, usually in a slow month. | $99 to $199 per year |
| Statement, batch, gateway and regulatory fees | Small recurring items that add up to a second monthly minimum. | $15 to $60 per month |
| Equipment lease | A 48-month lease on a $300 terminal, often non-cancellable. | $30 to $80 per month |
| Rate increase notices | Buried in the statement footer. Silence counts as consent. | 0.1% to 0.5% per increase |
What you get back
- Your effective rate. Total fees divided by total volume. This is the number that matters.
- Every fee, labeled. Which are interchange (unavoidable), which are processor markup, and which are junk.
- A written quote. Dual pricing (your fees go to zero) and a traditional interchange-plus option, side by side, so you can choose.
- A recommendation. Sometimes that is "stay where you are." We would rather earn a referral than a bad fit.
What we set up when the numbers say switch
Dual pricing on Clover POS or Dejavoo terminals so in-person processing costs you nothing, payment gateways on interchange-plus for online and invoicing, and setups by industry. Or, if your current deal is good, nothing.

Frequently asked questions
What do you need from me?
One recent monthly statement from your current processor, as a photo or PDF. A full page is best because the fee schedule is usually on page two or three. If your processor hides the statement in a portal, screenshots work.
How fast is the turnaround?
Within 24 hours on business days, usually the same day. You get a written breakdown by text or email, then a short call if you want to talk through it.
Is it really free, and what is the catch?
It is free and there is no obligation. The catch is that most statements show avoidable fees, and once you see them you tend to want them gone. If your current deal is good, we tell you to keep it.
Will you call my current processor?
No. Nothing changes until you decide to switch. When you do, we handle the paperwork, equipment programming and cutover so you are never without a way to take payments.
What is an effective rate?
Total fees divided by total card volume for the month. It is the only number that lets you compare processors honestly, because it includes every percentage, per-item and monthly fee. Most small businesses on tiered or flat-rate pricing run 3% to 4%. We show you yours.
