Clover’s plans are priced by what kind of business you run, and the names have changed enough times that dealer sites disagree on them. This is the September 2026 lineup from clover.com with what each plan actually unlocks, the rate attached when you buy direct, and which one each business needs.
The plans, side by side
| Plan | Monthly (direct) | In-person rate (direct) | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payments | $0 | 2.6% + 10¢ | Terminal use only: Compact, Go, or a Flex as a payment device; no POS features |
| Essentials | $14.95 | 2.6% + 10¢ | Services, mobile, professional, very small counters |
| Counter Service Restaurant | $59.95 | 2.3% + 10¢ | Quick service, cafes, bars without tables |
| Table Service Restaurant | $89.95 | 2.3% + 10¢ | Full-service dining |
| Retail Growth | $84.95 | 2.3% + 10¢ | Retail with inventory and barcodes |
Keyed and online transactions are 3.5% + 10¢ on every plan when bought direct. Some resellers list a Services Growth tier around $29.95 between Essentials and the business plans. Through a dealer the plan fee is Clover’s; the processing is the dealer’s, which is where dual pricing and interchange-plus come in.
What each plan includes
Payments. Take cards, print receipts, basic dashboard reporting. No menu, inventory or employees. For Compact and Go, or a Flex used purely as a terminal beside another system.
Essentials. Register with order management, basic inventory (items, categories, modifiers), customer profiles, tip prompts, transaction reports, a virtual terminal with invoicing, Clover Go mobile payments. Enough for a salon, a service desk, a market stall, a professional office.
Counter Service Restaurant. Everything in Essentials plus: restaurant menu tools (combos, modifiers with defaults), Clover Online Ordering, contactless QR ordering, Kitchen Display support, order types (dine in, takeout, delivery), kitchen printer routing, and the Kiosk. For cafes, quick service, fast casual, bars without table service.
Table Service Restaurant. Everything in Counter Service plus Clover Dining: drag-and-drop floor plans with sections, table status with seat times, coursing to pace the kitchen, splitting checks by item, seat or percentage, server sections, and pre-authorized bar tabs. For any restaurant with tables and servers. Details on Clover Dining.
Retail Growth. Everything in Essentials plus: item variants, returns and exchanges, scale and barcode scanner support, item-level cost and profitability, item combinations, purchase-order basics, and a basic loyalty program. For stores that scan barcodes and take returns. Limits are on the Clover for retail page.

Add-on software fees
The plan is not the whole software bill. Kiosk is about $34.95 a month per device; Kitchen Display about $25 a month per device; App Market apps (loyalty, gift cards, scheduling, accounting sync, delivery integrations) $10 to $60 each. A restaurant on Table Service with a KDS, a loyalty app and Commerce Sync is at roughly $190 a month in software. Budget the apps you will use and skip the rest. The picks by business are on Clover apps worth paying for.
Plan and rate through a dealer
The plan fee is the same either way. What changes through a dealer is processing: dual pricing takes it to $0, or interchange-plus for a single posted price, on month-to-month terms with us. The arithmetic is on the Clover pricing page.
